I'm sitting at my hotel desk in Lyon, imagining that the blog could capture the true essence of the experiences that have occured... somehow it feels like an uphill task ? There are hundreds of photos, hours of video, amazing memories and a few small take home items of remembrance. But as anybody who has travelled knows, its how it feels that you wish to take home.
The last meal in France tonight was a great combination of Indian at the 'New Delhi Restaurant'. Why would I not go out and find something 'french' you ask ?.. well lets just say I was hoping to order something I could pronounce. And since I'm from Canada I knew Hindi would be close to home. .. as well as tastefull. I'm not really a food connoisseur by any means, but a couple beers, 2 samosa and some cheese naan sounded like a great starter, followed with some curried lamb and veggies on a side of jasmine rice.
Lyon is a visually over powering city by a new comers standards. There are so many eras of human history here, from Roman, to Gothic, Renaissance, and of course the Modern. Its kind of strange to know this is the 3rd largest city in France, yet is about the same size as the Calgary core, divided by two major rivers, the Saone and the Rhone.
About a week before I came here though, I was in Aix en.
